This hotel is really big and impressive with it’s 45 floors, over 2000 rooms, 12 elevators, 3 restaurants (one of them is panoramic), a theater, a huge fitness room … And all this in the middle of Times Square.

What is the history of the New York Marquis Hotel?
This hotel opened in 1985 but was strongly criticized at first. Indeed, they had to demolish five Broadway theaters to build it. All ended well, because they created a large theater downstairs, to please everyone’s taste.
Anyway, this hotel will turn 35 in 2020!
It is part of the Marriott Hotels & Resorts hotel chain, with 505 hotels throughout the world, and several Marriott Marquis hotels in America (Atlanta, San Francisco, San Diego, Washington DC, Houston and NYC).
What services does the New York Marriott Marquis Hotel offer?
This hotel offers a lot of services just a few steps away from Times Square.
Like any hotel, it has rooms … 1949 to be precise! They are classified in 12 categories, with different size and features. Most rooms have a view over Times Square.
It has three restaurants:
– The View: it is a revolving restaurant, making a 360º turn every hour. You can go there for brunch, lunch, dinner or to just have a drink. It offers a breathtaking view of Times Square, day or night.
– Crossroads American Kitchen & Bar: is a restaurant on the 8th floor, where the Lobby is located. There you can have breakfast from 6am to 11.30am, dinner begins at 4.30pm to 10.00pm.
– Broadway Lounge: is more a bar than a restaurant. You can go from 12pm to 12am to enjoy the view over Times Square. Each year, you can book a table for dinner and spend New Year’s Eve there. They remove some of the tables for you to dance.
The Marriott Marquis has a 370 m2 fitness room overlooking Times Square and the interior of the hotel.
It has 12 lifts, which is pretty impressive.

How are the rooms?
The rooms are very spacious and comfortable. They have nothing to do with a “cheap” hotel, the range is fairly high.
But frankly, the decor is from the 80’s in parts of it. However, that adds a vintage touch 😉
This is a room in the “Times Square View” category, located on the 27th floor. The large window offers a breathtaking view of Times Square.
The bed is very comfortable.
The bathrooms are quite classic, with shower, bathtub and WC. It is very clean and all the elements work perfectly.
How much does a night at Marriott Marquis cost?
Reading my post may make you think it costs a lot of money to stay at this hotel.
Indeed, it is more expensive than a hotel in Queens, but you can find good deals.
In low season, rooms start at $ 186 for a double queen bed. 4 people can sleep in the same room, not so bad!
Where is the New York Marriot Marquis in NYC?
It is in the heart of Times Square, near the red TKTS steps, behind the world’s largest numeric display.
