Where can you find the best cookie in New York? At Levain Bakery of course!!!

For a while, I wanted to try cookies at Levain Bakery since I’ve heard awesome things about this place. They offer the best cookie deals in New York. Since I only believe what I see or taste, I had to venture on the Upper East Side to try that cookie for myself!!

A little history about Levain Bakery

Two friends, Connie Mc Donalds and Pam Weekes, created the bakery in 1994. At the time, Connie was working in the banking industry, and Pam worked in Fashion. Both are professional swimmers and were known for the famous (a triathlon in marathon mode :)) competition called the Ironman.
Since both shared their love for good food, quickly, they set up to create the best cookie in the world.
In a matter of few years only, Levain Bakery has become an institution with locals and tourists alike even if there are only two bakeries in New York and an additional location is opening in the village of Wainscott.

What can you eat at Levain?

As a matter of fact, they propose:
– Chocolate Chip Walnut Cookie
– Dark Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookie
– Oatmeal Raisin Cookie
– Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Chip Cookie

In addition, you can try the Raspberry Bomboloncini, the Whole Wheat Walnut Raisin Roll, Country Rolls, Baguette with Butter & Jam and more.

What did we try at Levain Bakery?

The Dark Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookie:

It’s absolutely magnificent, mind-blowing, gigantic, and utterly extra delicious, in other words “a culinary orgasm”!!!
Being a real cookie fan, I can assure you that I have tried many cookies in New York, Miami, Portland, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and beyond, but Levain Bakery is way ahead of them.
If I could rate this business, I would give them an easy A+.
And for the other bakeries, I would barely rate them a B – since the difference of quality and taste is overwhelming.
Now, you must wonder and think: “Ok, we get it, Memo, must have some special deals with this bakery or what???”
And the answer is no, absolutely nothing.
It’s just that when I had a bite of the Dark Chocolate Chocolate Chips Cookie, it was moist on the inside and crusty on the outside. It was an intense and exquisite taste.
My mouth starts to water, just writing about it.
As a matter of fact, when tasting it, I didn’t get the chance to snap a picture of it since we ate it so quickly!!! 🙂

The Chocolate Chip Walnut Cookie:
Unfortunately, this cookie doesn’t match up with the one above.
The cookie is very crunchy and moist at the same time with a great taste but I found it less yummy that the other one.
On the other hand, my friend Celine found it very tasty.

Raspberry Bomboloncini:
It is a light and soft doughnut made with homemade raspberry jam. I really like it but not as much as the Dark Chocolate Chip Cookie!!!

Where is Levain Bakery located?

The first and main one location is on the Upper West Side, another one is in Harlem and finally one bakery is located in Long Island. They just opened a new bakery in Upper East Side, and one is coming soon in NoHo!

It took me a while the find the reference in terms of cookie but now I did.
I have the best cookie tip in New York!!!

I have tried to please myself in an attempt to bake at home the notorious Chocolate Chip Cookie from Levain Bakery since I’ve found the video recipe online from the 2 creators: Pam & Connie
It was not as good as theirs but try for yourself:), here’s the video:
