If you want to spend a nice moment in New York, with a lot of New Yorkers around, I recommend that you go to St Marks Street in East Village and have a drink at Bua Bar.

How’s the Bua Bar?

It looks like a factory with its brick wall, the wooden furniture… As a wine cellar, you can smell the odor of cork!
There are a lot of candles on the wall and on the tables.
The music is not so loud, so you can have a great conversation with your friends 😉

Who is going to Bua Bar?

The clients are residents of this area, they are in between 25-35 years old. It’s like these bars and restaurants in this part of New York.

Bua bar serves a great selection of draft beers, from American and European breweries.
The cocktails cost $12 ($8 during happy hours M-F 3-8 pm and S-S 12-4 pm), a glass of wine costs $10, and there is a lot of beers starting at $7.

They also prepare assorted plates to share and starters.

This bar opened in 1989, at this time its name was Sin’e, which means “this is it” in Gaelic English. A lot of Irish singers went to that place like Shane McGowan, Sinead O’Connor, and many other artists such as Jeff Buckley, Marianna Faithfull…

That’s a nice place to be in New York if you’re planning to visit the city. You’ll quench your thirst after a long walk in NYC, or after visiting a museum. Having a drink after walking around is one of my best advices to have a break 😉
