The best candy stores in New York

New York is a city famous for its wide range of treats such as cookies, brownies, doughnuts and cheesecakes… But it can also be a real paradise for candy fans!
So here’s my selection of the best candy stores in New York 🙂

Dylan’s Candy Bar

Dylan’s Candy Bar is a New York chain since 2001. Designed by Dylan Lauren, daughter of Ralph Lauren, the stores are a mix of art, pop culture, and fashion.

Many candies are created by Dylan Lauren, but you can find some more traditional ones.

This store looks like its neighbor, Serendipity III, with so many different colors and shapes.
If you’re in New York for a birthday, you can throw a party there.

They make homemade cocktails, ice cream… and many more!

M&M’s World

I don’t think I need to tell you what M&M’s are… Yes? Well, it’s a Mars product, founded in 1935 by Forrest Mars and Bryce Murrie (hence M & M). There are many flavors and fillings: almonds, peanut butter, pretzel, mint…

You can make your own creations of M&M’s by mixing all the flavors you like.
But be careful, a large amount of M&M’s is released through those big dispensers. It’s pretty dangerous for your wallet…

They also sell a lot of by-products like T-shirts, piggy banks… Everything you could imagine.

The store is near Times Square and you can appreciate the view from inside.

IT’SUGAR Candy Store

This chain is not as famous as the first two, but it does have several stores in New York. You will find both classic and the latest sweets.

You can buy a wide variety of Pez.
It’s amazing to see all that you can buy in this store.

Economy Candy

Economy Candy is a store that’s supposed to have all the candy in the world. It’s a family owned business located on the Lower East Side since 1937.

Candies are sold by weight.

On NYCTT, I have a full article about Economy Candy.

Hershey’s New York

Hershey’s store opened at a new location in late 2018 in Times Square.
It’s now more modern and very original. I love the lamps!

There’s even a Smore’s bar. It’s a preparation with a chocolate-covered hot marshmallow, crushed in between two cookies.

Here they sell the typical sweets of the brand such as Reese’s, Kisses, Kit Kat… and goodies. You can buy them in ready-made bags or use a dispenser (like in M&M’s). Several packages are sold only in New York!

If you like the brand’s chocolate bars a lot, here you will find giant format as in the following picture, don’t trust the mention “snack size”:

You can imagine the happiness of this child! I don’t know if his parents bought it though…
