During my one of my stays in New York I wanted to go to a restaurant in Soho where mostly locals go. Cupping Room Café seemed like a good idea and my experience there was even better than expected.
How is the Cupping Room Café?
The decorations there are typically like most restaurants in New York, with wooden floors and red bricks walls. It looks like an apartment.
They have a great bar if you decide you just want to have some drinks and watch a football game on their big screen TV.
What is the atmosphere like?
It has a very calm environment; some customers are drinking at the bar while others are having dinner. This restaurant offers live music, that night we got to listen to a very nice singer and her guitarists.
They have live music Friday and Saturday nights from 8-11pm and Sunday from 7 to 10pm.
What is the Cupping Rooms clientele?
There were a lot of locals the night I went, which is what I enjoyed the most. It’s nice to get away from touristic places that and be surrounded by locals and really feel like a New Yorker.
What kind of food do they have there?
Their food is good; the cuisine is international and very delicious. For appetizer you can order fried bananas, which I personally like a lot.
We ordered a variety of food like fish and chips:

Chicken with olives:
Home made raviolis:
A very big hamburger obviously:
And for desert we had a cheesecake and a delicious brownie:
What are their prices?
Their prices are reasonable for a restaurant in New York, $18 for raviolis, $19 for pasta, over $20 for the chicken with olives, and $16 for the hamburger. They also have large salads starting between $16 and $20, and other starters from $9 to $15. I’m sure you will be able to find something you like.
