What’s the history of Gantry Plaza State Park?

In the past, Long Island City was a very bleak and industrial area, located on the border of the East River. Nowadays, no boats come to unload their merchandise but you can still notice the restored carfloat transfert bridge used in industrial docks which looks very nice. I really like it!!!
Nowadays, they are classified as landmarks.

What can you do at Gantry Plaza State Park?

We can simply enjoy a stroll, a romantic walk and seat on the benches to enjoy the amazing Manhattan skyline. In other words, it’s a romantic place.
In addition, it’s a great place to take beautiful photos. I really enjoy myself taking pictures with visiting friends and family 🙂

You can also find piers where fishermen like to spend their time trying to catch something in the East River.
If you keep on walking along the river, you’ll find the enormous Pepsi sign!

When can you visit Gantry Plaza State Park?

The park is open all year long, from dawn to 10 pm. The best 2 tips I can give you is to come during a sunny day or at night where you can see the beautiful skyline.
I personally took the first option and it was really cool!!!

Besides, it was such a beautiful day that we manage to encounter the former French rugby player (for those familiar with Rugby) and now radio reporter, Vincent Moscato. He was with his agent and photograph, posing while explaining that it was definitely nicer and more original to take pictures in the park rather than do like everyone else in Times Square.
