If you are in Williamsburg in Brooklyn, let me suggest you to go to Fette Sau BBQ.
I’ve been there and I loved it, I highly recommend it.
Writing this article and seeing all these pictures… Makes me want to go back there now 😀

What is Sau Fette BBQ?

This restaurant opened in 2007 in the neighborhood of Williamsburg. The specialty is BBQ grilled meat.
Their motto is to prepare an eco-responsible meal.
The wood used for grilling comes from a company in the State of New York (The Woodman).
The meat contains no antibiotics nor hormones, produced by farmers from New York and several nearby states.

How is the atmosphere at Fette Sau BBQ?

The atmosphere is very “Brooklyn” with wooden furniture and simple industrial style.
There is a great bar to order your food, tables and benches to eat at.
There are tables outside the restaurant, so if the weather is fine do not hesitate and eat outside, it is very nice.

What can you eat?

The house specialty is braised meat and especially pork, But you can also try other meats and sausages.
Even if the menu changes daily, you can always accompany your meat with potato salad, broccoli, pickles, beans and coleslaw.
They offer many drinks, sodas, water, local beers and many whiskies.

At this BBQ restaurant in New York, I tried their specialty, the grilled pork.
We ordered this great dish for 4 people!
We had ribs, shredded pork with potato salad, hot-dog bread and two drinks.
The meat was delicious.
Truly, it is a real good place to try during your next vacation in NY.

How much does it cost to eat at Fette Sau?

Sadly, it is not the cheapest restaurant in Brooklyn… But I think the price is fair for New York City.
For 4 people, it cost us $72, for 550 gr of ribs ($30), 400 gr of shredded pork ($21), potatoes salad ($6), 2 sodas ($3 each) and a beer ($3).
Let’s say it costs $18 per person.
It is not very expensive, and it is really worth it to have lunch there.
