If you’re a fan of Abercrombie & Fitch, then let me introduce you to its little brother named Hollister.
They share similar style, bit its less pricey. Hollister is a good place to go shopping in New York.
As part of the company “Abercrombie & Fitch”, the Californian brand “Hollister” store is located in SoHo just across Victoria Secret and near the Adidas store. I will go more into details about the location because I have passed by there a number of times without noticing it. The storefront is dark and only advertised with the Hollister logo, pay close attention when looking for it.
One of the features of this store is that most sale associates are aged between 18 and 25, handsome, friendly and dressed in flip flops and swimsuits. As soon as you enter the store, they welcome you with a “Hey Guys!”. At the beginning, it seems cool and fun but after the 3rd time you’ve come across the same person and they keep greeting you with a “Hey Guys!”. They are very friendly and are good at providing good advice.
In addition, their clothes are really cool, especially their tee shirts, shirts and sweaters!! They also sell jeans, bathing suits, sweatpants and more!!!
Their line is reasonably priced and made with quality materials, for instance: tee shirts prices start at $15 (10 euros), polo starting $20 (14 euros) and sweaters are priced at $35 (24 euros). Yes! It’s a real shopping tip in New York!!!
The store uses their sale associates as a way to advertise their collection.
Inside the store, it’s not unusual to see the staff walking around shirtless or in swimsuits. Yes, at Hollister, recruitment is based on physical attributes and not on your work experience.
You might want to go Hollister just to see their staff but keep in mind that this is not the best reason to visit the store since they sell good quality clothes and like I mentioned earlier, the prices are great and it’s less expensive that Abercrombie & Fitch.
So go check out Hollister.
Just like Abercrombie, 2 locations are available in New York: one location in Soho and the other on 5th avenue. Try to avoid the 5th avenue store as much as possible since it’s very crowded!!!
