All the information about Hurricane ”Joaquin”

Everyone remembers the storm that devastated the city of New York on October 2012, named Sandy.

According to the National Hurricane Center in Miami, there is another storm forming in the Bahamas named Joaquin with winds up to 120km/h.

Its taking the same route that Sandy took, it was in the Bahamas on Wednesday September 30th and its heading towards the east coast of the United States, it will probably be getting to New York on Monday October 5th.

Update Wednesday 09/30: Strong winds may reach the east coast of the United States and New York on Monday October 5th.

Update Thursday 10/01 at 5:00am (London time). The storm Joaquin is located east of the Bahamas. It will be heading north on Friday and reach the east coast of the United States this weekend and the beginning of next week. The direction is which the storm is heading is still not certain.

Update Thursday 10/01 at 11:00 am (London time). The storm’s route is changing and might reach New York on Tuesday.

Update Friday 10/2  7:00 am (London time). The storm route is changing from the east coast 🙂 It might be some wind but nothing to worry about.

Update Friday 10/02 8.00pm (London Time). Well, it’s almost 100% confirmed, Joaquin’s route is heading to the East, New York will be left alone by the hurricane 😀
We are happy about that, for NY and since the NYCTT team will be there next week! We will have plenty of places to visit and new travel tips to share 😉

By the way, you can meet with us on Thuesdy 6th, we will be at Ocabanon by 7.30pm (245 W 29th St, New York, NY 10022).

Where to keep up with updates?

I will try to follow up with the information and do the updates here, I hope its not a dangerous storm.

I will be arriving in New York on Sunday October 4th so I will be able to do a live update.

What to do in the mean time?

There is still a chance that the storm will take a different route so there is not much to worry about yet. I am still going to head to New York on Tuesday October 6th and I hope to see you all there as well.
