Interview Interview with Adrian, the creator of Agave Fenix

This interview for NYCTT is a little different from the ones I’ve already done. This time, I want to introduce you to Adrian, a friend with whom I share the love of travelling… and when possible, a beer or two. Adrian created his own brand, Agave Fenix, and manufactures leather products. I’d like you to discover his work, and at the end of the article, I have a surprise for you.

Hi Adrían, could you introduce yourself to the NYCTT community?

Hello my Friends of NYCTT! My name is Adrián Gaitán, founder of Agave Fenix (Leather Accessories). I am originally from Mexico City.

Tell us how you created Agave Fenix and why.

Agave Fenix was born in 2010 as a result of creating a brand of functional design accessories, using leather as the main material, always looking for an excellent product with the best quality.
It was difficult at first to refine the models, but it helps us to be in contact with our customers to learn more about their needs and create goods that perfectly suit them.

What kind of products do you make?

The products I make are bracelets, key rings, card holders, wallets, passport holders, cable holders, purses, etc.

We have already traveled together, and I know that you always come prepared, using your own accessories. Which are the ones that you never forget?

When I travel, I never forget my passport holder, wallet, key ring and cable holder.

Now, a few questions about New York. Have you ever been to New York?

Yes, I was in New York in the summer of 2004, I found it an incredible place with lots of things to do.

What did you like about the city, what are you must-see visits?

What I liked most about New York is its multicultural style, its skyscrapers and all that cosmopolitan atmosphere.
There are a lot of places you can’t miss, I walked around most of the city, so I didn’t miss any interesting places. I enjoyed going to Ellis Island to see the Statue of Liberty up close.

What do you propose for those who will soon travel to New York?

On a trip you can’t leave without cable clips to organize your chargers, headphones and other electronic devices. The passport holder is also essential to protect and organize the documentation that one needs when traveling. Finally, a discreet and durable wallet. It is always essential to have one on hand for credit cards and identification.
