What kind of deals you can possibly make?
All year long, the outlet offers regular sales like: -10%, -20%, -30%, but also offers includes buy one get one 50% off or buy 2 get the 3rd item for 1$. Often, these sales are offered to clear up their stocks.
Even if there are no special sales, the prices are really good and free of taxe.
Is Jersey Garden Mall better than most stores in Manhattan?
Yes and no in terms of prices. Sometimes, you may find great deals in some stores in Soho or Macy’s and Century 21 for instance. But, the prices are still great overall.
The only negative aspect is the 35 min bus ride and expect 3 to 4 hours shopping minimum, besides, keep in mind that you’re losing ½ to 1 day of your vacation.
It’s up to you to see if you prefer spending extra Dollars and stay in Manhattan to get to know the city a little more or spend on day on shopping extravaganza!!! 😀
A good shopping tip
When you arrive at Jersey Garden, go to the information desk and ask for coupons booklet ($5) to get extra savings on your purchases at the Mall. In order to get the booklet, just present your passport at the desk.
You’ll see rebates up to 20% off in stores like Tommy Hilfiger and U.S. POLO ASSN.
Jersey Garden in video:
Can we eat at Jersey Garden Mall?
Yes, in fact, there are a total of 17 restaurants on site at the Food Court so you’ll be able to choose freely even if the majority are fast food restaurants.
Where is Jersey Garden?
Jersey Garden is located as suspected in New Jersey, close to Newark airport.
Address: Jersey Gardens NJ Turnpike Exit 13A, Elizabeth, NJ 07201
Website: http://www.jerseygardens.com/
How to get there?
The best way to get there from Manhattan is to simply take a bus at Port Authority Bus Terminal (located at the corner of 41st street and 8th avenue).
2 buses are available:
– Bus N° 111 toward JERSEY GARDENS and IKEA ELIZABETH
– Bus N° 115 toward RAHWAY VIA JERSEY GARDENS
Then, make sure to stop at Jersey Gardens Mall!!!! 🙂 🙂
The bus takes a good 35 minutes ride to reach the Mall.
The bus ride costs $6.50/person one way, the same applies for the return.
What are the business hours of Jersey Garden?
The Jersey Garden is open everyday from 10am to 9pm, except Sunday when it’s open from 11am to 7pm.
Don’t forget to have fun 😉
Commentaires et questions sur
Jersey Gardens, the other outlet close to New York and a great shopping tip in New York
Des questions ou des remarques sur cet article ? Faites-nous en part dans les commentaires, nous nous ferons un plaisir de vous répondre et de vous aider !
Yes, take a look at page 2, “To New York”, “Saturdays” table, on the 111 bus schedule.
I think it’s about the same, it all depends on where you’re going. Any outlet is your best bet 😉
You can buy your round trip ticket at Port Authority Bus Terminal if you want 😉
Informative post. Thanks!
We (2 adults) will be staying Long Island City during our Nov 2019 vacation. Nov 21 to 30 to be exact. We wish to spend one day for shopping at a bargain outlet. Do you recommend spending the day at the outlet mall during any of the days we are in NYC our just stick to downtown NYC – Times Square, SoHo etc, to get pre and post Thanksgiving deals. Any location we can get clothes and xmas gift sales, Thanksgiving deals and yet avoid the massive crowds is what we are hoping for. If you suggest staying in NYC proper where would you recommend for low to mid range shopping and if the outlet malls then which do you suggest. We’ll be taking public transport.
Thanks in advance and again, great tips you offer!
Regards,
RRM
Jersey Gardens will be a good option to find good deals. If you want to avoid the massive crowds, you’d better go whenever it opens.
If you want to stay around Manhattan, you can go to Union Square. There are a lot of stores like Nordstrom Rack, Burlington, TJ Maxx… You’ll find very good prices. Not far away from there, you can go to the new outlet located on Staten Island, Empire Outlets: https://www.new-york-city-travel-tips.com/empire-outlets-staten-island/.
🙂
I’ve looked at bus schedules from Port Authority Bus Station to Jersey Gardens and back. The NJTransit website haven’t published the bus times for the 27th Nov (pre Thanksgiving day) or 29th Nov (Black Friday) as they are deemed holiday schedules.
Any idea from your historical experience what the bus times would be like or any restrictions to consider if taking the bus on those days?
Thanks again.
Regards,
RRM
I know that they have a lot of buses for Black Friday! But no idea about the 27th… They may release the new schedule by the beginning of the month.
The mall is closing at 9pm, and even earlier in winter. I’m not sure that it will be a good idea to go there that late.
On the last paragraphs of my post, you have all the information about the buses you may take to go from Manhattan to the mall.
Thanks
No problem with your question, yes, all the stores are outlet with outlet prices.
Is it OK to bring a large piece of luggage in the bus? Or is that frowned upon?
Tks!
You won’t be the only one doing it 😉
We have a late flight out of Newark airport back to the UK. Is it feasible to travel to Jersey Garden from New York and then travel to Newark Airport from there. If so is the transport easy to the airport?
Thanks
If you’re at Jersey Gardens, you may want to go to the airport directly from there. You can find a place where to store your luggage on Nannybag (https://www.new-york-city-travel-tips.com/nannybag-safe-luggage-storage/) or head to the airport first and then go to the mall, it’s a 10 minute ride by car and you won’t have to go back to Manhattan.
For transportation option from Manhattan, you can read this post: https://www.new-york-city-travel-tips.com/how-transfer-newark-airport-manhattan/
You may get good deals, it depends on the stores. In general they take advantage of special days to offer sales 😀
Will be in NYC December 27th 2018.- January 12th 2019.
What is the best time to visit outlet center?
Thanks
Right after New Year day they usually give extra offers, so you may want to go at this time 😉
Here you are with the deals of the day: https://www.simon.com/mall/the-mills-at-jersey-gardens/deals
The last bus leaves at 11.04pm on weekdays, 11.10pm on Saturdays and 11.03pm on Sundays (115 – NY/Rahway).
In general, it opens at 9am.
Yes, you can have a look at the sales calendar here: https://www.new-york-city-travel-tips.com/sale-calendar-great-shopping-new-york/
Yes, you have the Black Friday, right after Thanksgiving! It’s the best date for sales! 😉
Don’t hesitate if you have further questions.
You will still find good sales on the 5th. There will be specials all weekend long 😉
We are planning to go on January 1st, do you know the openning hours for that day??
thanks!
It should be 9am-9pm 😉
THanks
Yes, it will be open but we don’t know the hours yet.
Thanks!!!
You can go shopping on the first days of January. There will be sales during all those days anyway 😉
which is your recommendation according to the amount of people and possible discounts?
You will find discounts on the whole weekend before Columbus Day and the same day. Some stores will keep some specials for Oct. 10, but it will be better to go on Columbus Day 😉
The best offers will be during the weekend before the 4th of September. It depends on the stores, you will find good discounts during the whole week too 😉
what times are the 111 running from NY and return from Jersey Mills on a Sunday please?
Thanks Audrey
It takes around 45-50 minutes to make the one way trip to the mall. Here you have the whole schedule for the bus 111: http://www.njtransit.com/pdf/bus/T0111.pdf
Yes you can 😉
The bus stops right in front the main entrance on Jersey Gardens Blvd 🙂
You have to take the bus 111 at Penn Station, there is a bus every 10-15 minutes. Everything is well indicated inside Penn Station 😉
