What is the setting of LIC Market?
This Queen’s restaurant can seat 30 people and is fashionably decorated with wood details and pictures on the walls.
The entire theme is dedicated to the organic movement which gives to this little restaurant the feeling of a small neighborhood vintage grocery store.
It’s a really friendly place to enjoy your lunch just like I did.
What kind of customers go to LIC Market?
The good thing is that very few tourists come here; therefore you’ll find yourself eating with a crowd of students, businessmen and middle aged ladies meeting a girlfriend for lunch.
There’s a real mix of local people.
What can you eat?
You could try different dishes starting from risotto, salad or burgers. There’s a little bit of everything.
In addition, excellent beers are available from small American producers. My friend and I tasted their house special. I chose a must for this restaurant and for some the best of New York: the hamburger.
It was really good. The bread was original while being soft in the inside and crunchy on the outside with a great quality of ground beef, a delicious sauce and a slice of tomato served with a side of potatoes.
Is it better than Shake Shack?
Let’s just say that it’s not the same type of burger and the fact is that I am fan of small independent restaurants rather than the franchised ones.
My friend, ordered the green vegetables risotto and being a risotto specialist as a cook, she really did appreciate the perfectly well cooked dish which was creamy and savory.
In the meantime, our special good tip is to try a “LAGUNITAS”, needless to say it was excellent and it went down easily.
