The Life Hotel has a perfect location in the NoMAd neighborhood, NOrth of MADdison Square Park. The building is old, but the hotel is very recent, with a restaurant that has just opened a couple of months ago.
History of the Life Hotel
The building holds a particular significance in NYC because it was the Life Magazine premises. It was built in 1893, and at this time, writers, artists and reporters of the magazine lived or stayed there. Life magazine was purchased in 1936 by Time and the offices moved to Rockefeller Plaza.
Then it became a residential building and a low-end hotel called The Herald Square.
Since 2017 it is a completely renovated building, with a name that recalls its glorious past, the Life Hotel.
