What is Max Brenner restaurant about?
If like us, you like chocolate, you have to go to the Max Brenner restaurant.
It is a temple of chocolate, they prepare it in all its forms and flavors.
We went there to take a break in the afternoon, walking through Union Square. However, you can go to Max Brenner for lunch or brunch because they also serve dishes with fish, steak, burgers, pizzas …
What we had at Max Brenner?
The day we went, the weather was quite cold. So my wife and I ordered a Hug Mug. It is a slightly thick hot chocolate served in a cup with a special shape, perfect to warm your hands (hence the name Hug Mug).
There are several recipes for hot chocolates. I tasted the Spicy Mexican Hot Chocolate, with aromas of pepper and cinnamon. My wife ordered the Italian Thick, with vanilla cream.
For every hot chocolate, you can choose between black, milk and white chocolate.
My kids didn’t know whether to choose chocolate pizza, some crepes or waffles… They finally decided to ask for the Max I-Scream. It is a vanilla ice cream, served with three dishes of hot chocolate, hazelnut and chocolate balls. You have to “soak” the ice cream in these different preparations and it’s delicious! (I think they changed the recipe).
What more is there to say about this restaurant?
The restaurant is quite big. There is a shop at the entrance where you can buy the Hug Mugs, and any other preparations with chocolate.
The kitchen and dining room are large . The atmosphere is very nice, there are families, tourists, and people coming to get hot chocolate after work.
The most important thing: it smells really good!
How is the service at Max Brenner?
It is very fast.
As soon as you get a table, they serve you a glass of water and give you the menu.
They quickly prepare your order, it is perfect because the craving for chocolate increases while seeing the dishes on the other tables, not to mention the smell of chocolate … yummy! : D
A good tip before you go to Max Brenner
I had read that there is always a lot people coming to this restaurant. So, in order not to waste time waiting for a table, I booked one before on Open Table website. It is very convenient. You can also book on the official restaurant website.
How much does it cost to eat at Max Brenner?
The Hug Mug costs $6 and the ice cream $14 for both of my kids.
>For a pancake or waffle, they are about $14.
Nothing bad to say about the quality and quantity of the portions, the price is right.
