If you’re looking for a quiet and friendly place to have a drink or 2 ;), I recommend visiting the Sunita Bar located on the Lower East Side.
How’s the Sunita Bar?
It’s a small place, which can be the perfect spot if you’re looking for a romantic place around a drink. Don’t go out of your way to visit Sunita but it’s the ideal place for an intimate moment if you happen to be in the neighborhood for the evening.
There is barely any furniture: 2 couches, 2 armchairs and the bar.
The Sunita Bar is really cozy with mellow music, dim lights, brick walls and furnished with couches and armchairs along with a great selection of bottles available at the bar. It’s a small and quiet place, the perfect spot to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Just like you see, there are several pictures on the walls and regularly the work of a photograph is exposed on the walls.
What types of drinks are offered at Sunita?
They offer a great cocktail menu including the chili cocktail but it’s also poccible to order beers and even whisky since they have a good selection.
What’s really cool and original about this place is without a doubt their “Cocktail Menu”, with 5 creative cocktails.
– Jalapeño Passion Fruit Martini is made with Prosecco (Italian sparkling wine) and passion fruit nectar.
– The Elderflower which contains Elderberry, Gin and fresh lemon juice.
– The Jake is made with Ginger liquor, Maker’s Mark whisky, lemon juice and bitters
– Passion Daiquiri contains passion fruit nectar and rum.
The cocktails with alcohol are priced $12 but it’s possible to order one without alcohol for $5.
What can you try at Sunita?
I personally recommend tasting the very spicy Jalapeño Passion Fruit Martini. I tried it and it’s really their “star” cocktail.
Don’t be afraid, even myself who isn’t a chili fan, I manage to drink it smoothly.
The taste might be a bit strange because of the vodka and the passion fruit nectar but frankly besides being original with a touch of chili, I didn’t find it amazingly good. I think I would have preferred the rum cocktail 🙂
