Memo NYCTT

How is the World Center Hotel?

The hotel is quite modern, located right across from 9/11 Memorial in Lower Manhattan. The decoration is simple, with a lot of gray furniture and some touches of bright colors.

In this hotel there is a restaurant on the roof, View of the World Terrace Club, with an incredible view on the 9/11 Memorial and the One World Trade Center.

How are the rooms?

The bedroom I had was very spacious with a very comfortable King Size bed, a flat screen TV, an iPod and iPad dock.
The air conditioning is silent and can be monitored by the guest.

You will have everything you need to spend a pleasant stay like an armchair, a desk, a coffee machine (with a mug and coffee), a refrigerator, a microwave oven. You’ll also find a plaid and a yoga mat.

The bathroom is large with a shower adapted for people with disabilities.
They change the towels every day and they give toiletries.

It should be noted that the rooms are for 1-2, 1-3 and 1-4 people. You can stay in a suite too, with a fully equipped kitchenette and a dining room.

What are the hotel services?

There is a fitness room on the 7th floor of the hotel (I did not go).
Throughout the day you have access to a coffee machine, drinks, fruits and snacks on the ground floor of the hotel.
You will find water dispensers with sterile bottles.

Then, as in any hotel, the reception is available 24/7 and you get Wi-Fi connection.

Why is this hotel a good travel tip?

Its location is the best. Sure enough, it’s close to Chambers St – World Trade Center – Cortland St and Fulton stations.
You will be a few steps away from the Oculus to use the PATH (public transport service for New Jersey).

Anyway, I must indicate the view. From the rooms or terraces the view is impressive on the 9/11 Memorial, day and night.

What I think of the hotel

What I liked

– it is a clean, bright hotel, its location, very comfortable bed
– water dispensers, coffee maker, drinks,
– its proximity to Battery Park (Statue of Liberty), the Financial District and the World Trade Center.

What I didn’t like

– its closeness to Century 21 department store, this was very bad for my wallet 😀

How much does it cost to stay at this hotel?

I do not know for other dates, but I booked it at the last minute on Booking (June 24th and traveled on the 29th), I paid less than $ 1200 for 6 nights, all included.
However, I did not pay when I booked, but arriving at the hotel. They do not charge for security deposit.

Check rates on Booking

Where is the World Center Hotel?

It is located in the heart of the World Trade Center, just across from the One World Trade Center and the 9/11 Memorial.
Address: 144 Washington Street, New York, NY 10006

Conclusion

The World Center Hotel is not in MIdtown, but honestly, with all the subway stations near the hotel, you can easily go to Times Square, Queens, Brooklyn and New Jersey.
Fulton station is 10 minutes away from the hotel, and it is a direct subway ride in case you arrive at JFK. You will be very close to the Brooklyn Bridge, Chinatown – Little Italy, and in less than 5 minutes from Century 21, the Oculus transportation hub and Broadway.
What I loved the most was waking up in the morning and going to 9/11 Memorial without any tourists yet.
