History on Eileen’s Special Cheesecakes

This bakery opened in 1976 on the Cleveland Plaza in the Nolita area, near Little Italy. The property owner, Eilleen Avezzano, comes from an Italian background.
As the time went by, little by little her bakery became well known to the people of New York that soon became a place in the city you can’t miss.
One of the best things is that it continues to be a family business with home made recipes.
It’s the neighborhood bakery and it’s always delightful to go there.

Eileen’s Bakery Special Cheesecakes

It’s a really small bakery with a large offer of different cheesecakes. On the walls Eileen has pictures with a lot of different people, some of them are well-known. There are also tables and places to sit for the people that want to eat there.

There are 5 to 8 people that work with Eileen in the back of the bakery.

The best thing about Eileens Special Cheesecakes

It is still a very small bakery and if you go you can actually watch how they make the cheesecakes in a very traditional way.

How are the cheesecakes at Eileens?

The cheesecakes are very light, as if they were mousse, with a little cinnamon flavor.
There are different flavors you can choose, from like chocolate, raspberry or natural flavor.

What kind of different cheesecake flavors do they have?
Eileen proposes 30 different flavors:
-Banana
-Cashew
-Peanut Butter
-Pineapple
-Raspberry
-Chocolate
-Oreo
-Cherry
-Strawberry
-Amaretto…

Those are some of the flavors to name a few; I think the hardest part is choosing what flavor you want.
We tried a few different ones while I was there with some tea and took a box to go so we can eat later.
They didn’t even make it back to the Hotel we ate them on the way waiting for the metro.
The chocolate cheesecake, the natural flavor and the banana cheesecake were very delicious.
I wish I could to try all of them!

How much are the Cheesecakes?

Around $3.50 for the mini cheesecakes like on the picture.

The price varies depending on the size of the cheesecake and the flavor. It is around $15 for 4 to 5 people, and $45 for 12 to 16 people.
They also prepare them for big events like weddings, birthdays and baptisms.

Plus

They also have cookies, muffins, cakes, cupcakes, and tiramisu… but the cheesecakes are Eileen’s specialty.
