Dos Toros
Dos Toros is restaurant chain owned by two brothers originally from San Francisco.
What I like about this restaurant is the fact that their Burritos are prepared with fresh ingredients.
You can order the Carne Asada burrito for $8.50 or the Carnitas with grilled steak served with rice and beans for $8.
Add an extra $1 for guacamole in order to give more flavors to your burrito.
Dos Torros owns a number of restaurants in Manhattan and Brooklyn.

Korilla BBQ Truck
The Korilla BBQ is actually a food truck parked in various locations in the city.
Its particularity is that it’s not Mexican but Korean!!!
And yes, they are offering Korean burritos instead of Mexican ones 🙂
In fact, you can add classic ingredients like: chicken, pork, cheese, beef, rice and tofu if you are looking for a vegetarian option. What’s really original about it is the sauce.

El Rey Del Taco Truck
El Rey Del Taco Truck is another food truck in New York.
The truck is located in the neighborhood of Astoria, Queens and even if it has taco mentioned on its name, the truck also serves excellent burritos.
The great tip here is its very attractive price. For $6, you have a burrito with different options including chorizo, pork tongue, al pastor and carne asada.
Although it’s a truck, this one is always parked at 3301 30th Avenue in Astoria, Queens.
Everything is generously served with beans and cheese.
The truck operates from 8 pm to 4 am.
Burrito Box
Burrito Box is located at 885 9th avenue (between 57th and 58th streets) in the neighborhood of Hell’s Kitchen. The restaurant is rather small without much space to eat inside. On the other hand, it’s located steps away from Central Park, the best tip is to order your burrito to go and eat it on a Central Park bench 🙂
Regarding the burrito, I recommend the Chicken Ranchero made with rice, chicken, cheese with some delicious sour cream ($8.45), or the Burrito Chili Con Carne ($8.45) which is spicier, but very good.
They also offer vegetarian burritos with tofu, spinach or mushrooms. Other options are Wraps, Nachos, Quesadillas, Tacos, salads and more. Anything to make you think that you are in Mexico 🙂

Calexico
Calexico is a restaurant and Food Truck chain.
There are 3 locations in Manhattan and 4 in Brooklyn.
The burritos are served with fresh beans, rice, cheese and either chicken, pork, beef or black beans. Prices are between $8 and $10.
They also offer Tacos, Enchiladas, Quesadillas, salads and more.

Hotel Tortuga is located in the East Village at 245 East Street between 2nd and 3rd avenue.
This friendly place is not the most authentic restaurant in the city but they offer the best choice of vegetarian and vegan food in New York.
Try the Burrito Acapulco classic 1952 ($7.25), with brown rice, black beans, cheese stuffed in whole wheat tortilla, or the Super Vegetarian ($9.25) with Guacamole, salad, cheese and Acapulco sour cream.
Of course, they offer traditional burritos, tacos, nachos, Quesadillas, Tostadas and even breakfast.

La Pasadita Taco Truck
La Pasadita Taco truck is located in Bushwick, Brooklyn (957 Broadway and Myrtle Ave, NYC)
Just like the name suggested, tacos are their specialty, but they do offer very good meat burritos. For $6; it’s served in a warm tortilla stuffed with beans and many other good things. There is a very limited choice for vegetarians.
Tacqueria Tlaxacalli
Taqueria Tlaxcalli is a Mexican restaurant located in the Bronx at 2103 avenue, Bronx, NY.
This restaurant with the pink store front is bragging to offer the best burritos in the Bronx.
Right or wrong? 🙂
For $6, you’ll get a great choice of burritos made with flour tortilla and your choice of chicken, beef, spicy pork or chorizo, topped with cream, guacamole and hot salsa. The burritos are huge and served with homemade nachos. If you order your burrito with extra fresh guacamole, then it’s perfect!

Downtown Bakery is located in the East Village at 69 1st Ave, New York, NY 10003
Downtown Bakery offers many Mexican specialties, notably delicious burritos.
The prices are between $6.50 and $9.50.
For this price, your choices of burritos are: chicken, Carne Asada, Ranchero, shrimps, spinach and more.
They also offer burritos for breakfast based with eggs, green peppers, onions, tomatoes, cheese and black beans.
For $7, you’ll get a beef, egg and cheese burrito.

El Paso Taqueria & Cerveceria
El Paso Taqueria & Cerveceria is a Mexican restaurant located in the neighborhood of East Harlem at 237 East 116 Street (between 2nd and 3rd Avenue).
They offer an authentic Mexican cuisine with a burrito priced at $8.95 with a free drink.
Their specialty drink is the Margarita and they also have great menu options prepared with fresh ingredients.
I highly recommend the Ceviche (my favorite!).
The restaurant is open daily from 11 am to 11 pm.
