How is the VU Rooftop Bar?
The VU Rooftop Bar is located on top of Hotel La Quinta Inn. It is not a very big place, for 40 to 50 people at the most. That is not a bad thing since the atmosphere is very peaceful.
How are the Rooftops decorations?
The decorations are very simple but one of the things that impressed me the most was the view on the Empire State Building! I wasn’t paying much attention to the bars decoration because I was able to see the ESB. I mean, it’s not so bad 😉
What can you order?
The bar has a lot of drinks to offer from different types of beer, wine, and cocktails. And you can also order small entrees to snack on in case you want to eat. It’s a great place to start your night off with a drink before heading out to the city. Check out their menu here.
What is the Rooftops clientele like?
It’s a location where mainly tourists go. There is no dress code so you wont have to worry about going back home to get dressed up.
How is their service?
Normal, there is not much else to say about it.
How are their prices?
The beers cost $8 and the cocktails are between $9 – $13 dollars. About the same price as other rooftop bars.
What is a good tip if going to this bar?
I would recommend going there early so you can have a place to sit, it is a small space and it tends to get full fast. They also have a happy hour between 16h and 19h everyday and all day on Sunday. And also every Sunday from 17h to 19h they have live jazz if the weather allows it.

The VU has a great atmosphere it’s a great place to stop and rest with a drink after a long day traveling in New York and to take advantage of their happy hour. You can wear your traveling gear since there is not a strict dress code. It is one of the best rooftop bars where you can see the Empire State Building from up close.
