– What you need to know about the Covid-19 health crisis in New York , so you can read more about the sanitary and health guidelines in place.

Weather forecast for January and February 2022
Temperature highs: 4°C /// 39°F
Temperature lows: -3°C /// 27°F
February tends to be milder than January and less likely to be rainy (an average of 7cm of precipitation in February). However, January is definitely the coldest month!!!
Since February is still freezing in New York, you will spoil your trip because of the weather if you don’t dress accordingly in warm clothes. Don’t forget to pack everything to stay warm, including hats, gloves, scarves, and long johns or tights.
The best about January – February 2022in New York
Since the weather is cold during that time of the year, you will probably notice that the travel fares are the lowest of the year. This trend includes short term housing rentals or hotels.
As a tourist, you will also find that it’s a great time to visit NY since there are less tourists in town compared with summer months where it’s very crowded. Hence, there are less people waiting in line in touristic sites (Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building) and it’s easier to get some cheap Broadway tickets as well.
In January, it’s also sales time for a number of stores which is very interesting for shopping fans like me :)!!!
Holidays in January – February
Martin Luther King’s Day
The 3rd weekend of January is a 3 day weekend for a number of Americans and Monday is a holiday in memory of Dr. Martin Luther King.
Some businesses and companies will be closed.
Do not worry, restaurants and other tourist attractions will remain open.
This year, it falls on January 17.
President’s Day
President’s Day falls on the 3rd Monday of February since it’s right between George Washington (February 21st) and Abraham Lincoln (February 11th) birthdays.
It’s a federal holiday in honor of previous United States’ presidents.
This year, President’s Day is on Monday, February 21, 2022.
Just like Martin Luther King’s Day, a number of businesses and companies will be closed but everything regarding tourism will remain open.
